Black out text in a PDF
Most tools draw a black box over text that is still selectable underneath. We remove the text itself, so blacking it out actually means it is gone, with everything happening in your browser.
Upload. Redact. Done.
1
Open your file
Drag in a PDF or image. It is processed entirely on your device.
2
Mark what to hide
Draw boxes, search text, or auto-redact PII on a paid plan.
3
Download it secured
The hidden content is physically gone, not just covered.
Questions, answered
Can the text under the black box be recovered?
No. Unlike a drawn box, we physically remove the text, so it cannot be copied or extracted.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser, with nothing to install and no upload.
